Are you a current UC Berkeley student? Then you’re already a member! Your student ID is your membership card and allows you to take advantage of all Recreation and Wellbeing offerings. Unless otherwise noted, all Recreation and Wellbeing activities are at no cost to students.
UC Berkeley faculty, staff, emeriti, retirees, and graduates may purchase a membership. It’s quick and easy. Join online or by appointment.
Public visitors may purchase day passes at the Golden Bear Rec Center (GBRC) and Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area (SCRA) Pools, and participate in personal training sessions, instructional fitness classes, Martial Arts classes, and Adventures equipment rentals.

Refunds and Cancellation
- Membership is non-refundable, no exceptions.
- Membership cannot be prorated.
- Please submit an Action Request Form for billing questions, membership cancellations or holds.
Non-Member Aide Access
Recreation and Wellbeing members with disabilities are welcome to bring a non-member aide to assist with gym equipment and facilities access. When checking in, you must inform the Front Desk staff that a non-member aide accompanies you so they can be given access. Non-member aides are not permitted to use gym equipment or facilities except as required to assist the member. If the aide does want to use the gym equipment, they can speak to the front desk about membership. If non-member aides are using equipment, they will be asked to leave.
