Berkeley Recreation & Wellbeing has a number of ways for members to get involved during the Spring semester. Join a Sport Club, participate in an Intramural Sports virtual event or take a virtual fitness class to add some fun to your routine!
WorkFit Workshops Are Here
Do you miss working out at the gym with your friends? Are you struggling to exercise consistently at home? Do you wish you had an expert at your side to help you out? Well then, join us for a WorkFit workshop!
Our instruction-based workshops consist of a series of small group virtual classes led by top fitness professionals. Sessions are limited to a maximum of 15 participants who meet regularly to improve their health. You can work out confidently knowing that our experts are there to guide you and provide personalized feedback along the way! And even better—because you’ll have a guaranteed spot in class with an instructor who gets to know you and your fellow classmates, you can enjoy the supportive experience of learning and getting healthy together. And all classes will be recorded and accessible for your use even after the workshop has concluded.
Like many other groups on the UC Berkeley campus, Cal Sport Clubs is planning for a primarily virtual semester. However, this doesn’t mean that students can’t participate!
Recreation & Wellbeing will still be encouraging Sport Club teams to learn about virtual fundraising and alumni engagement by offering virtual meetings for Sport Club athletes. Additionally, Recreation & Wellbeing will be partnering with University Health Services to offer virtual workshops on nutrition and mental health. Finally, Sport Club officers and aspiring leaders can benefit from sessions with the LEAD Center to learn more about leadership on campus and in Sport Clubs. We hope that all of our Sport Clubs athletes are ready to go for an exciting Spring season!
Want to join a club? Visit the Sport Club webpage to learn about our 34 clubs and ways to get involved.
Did you participate in our weekly trivia nights last semester? In the Fall, IM Trivia was hosted three nights a week. Regularly attended by an average of 20+ participants, trivia categories included sports, Harry Potter, food and more!
Intramural Sports will continue operating virtually this semester, however there are plenty of ways that students can engage with the program! Similar to the Fall semester, Intramural Sports will offer a number of virtual events to engage with the Berkeley community. NFL Pick’em and other Esports tournaments such as NBA 2K, FIFA and Mario Kart will be available for participants to join.
Stay tuned for more information about Spring IM Sports tournaments and trivia in the coming weeks! More information
