Rendering of the new student-initiated and -funded Fitness Training Studio
In response to student needs and interest, Recreation & Wellbeing has recently opened a new fitness training studio located just across from the main weight room which will help alleviate crowding in the main weight room while also providing students and members more diverse fitness opportunities. The new studio features leading-edge adaptive and inclusive equipment, including:
- Variety of 5-40 pound dumbbells
- Lifting straps for assisted pull-ups and dips
- Suspension straps for body weight exercises
- Tension cords
- Stretching mats
- Kettlebells and sandbells
- Climbing grips
- BOSU and physio balls
- Push-up bars
- A battle rope
- Plyometric boxes
- And more
Made possible by a grant from the Wellness Fund, the new studio is part of a broader student-initiated and -funded effort to provide more spaces for students to engage in an active and healthy lifestyle that fosters wellbeing and a sense of community.
