Bear Tracks Pedometer Program
Bear Tracks is a pedometer program designed to get the campus community up and moving. Did you know that most people walk an average of 2,000 to 3,000 steps a day, which is roughly equivalent to 1 mile? Research shows that people who walk 10,000 steps a day (about 5 miles) benefit from the positive effects of physical activity with improvements in overall health and well-being.
Sign Up with Bear Tracks and:
- Get a free pedometer!
- Track your steps with the Activity Tracker.
- Keep track of your body metrics (blood pressure, resting heart rate, etc.) with the My Body Metrics tool.
- Use the Daily Log to jot down details about your walking or fitness routine.
- Read articles and tips on current fitness issues.
- Check the resources page for important information, such as how to use your free Bear Tracks pedometer.
Register Now
To participate, you'll first need to register using one of the links below. Students, Faculty and Staff will simply use their CalNet ID and passphrase to register and to login. Cal Rec Club Community and Affiliate members will need to set up a username and password, and thereafter may use Bear Tracks link below.
How to Get Your Free Pedometer
Once you've registered, stop by the RSF Membership desk to pick up your FREE pedometer. Then start wearing your pedometer regularly and tracking your steps. Your goal should be about 10,000 steps a day! You'll be surprised how quickly the steps add up
